USSSA Approved Bats
USSSA approved bats are certified by the United States Specialty Sports Association. These bats are certified based on performance and can have up to a 2 ¾" barrel diameter. USSSA bats are designed for players up to 14 years in age. USSSA bats are known for being able to hit balls further than other bats.
USA Approved Bats
A USA approved baseball bat means that the bat has been classified as being below the NCAA and NFHS level, so they are most commonly used for youth baseball. This certification is given to bats that have a wood-like performance for bats that are not made of wood, ultimately solidifying the integrity of the game regardless of the material of the bat.
BBCOR bats are enforced by NFHS and NCAA. In order for a bat to be considered a BBCOR bat, the bat must pass a series of tests to show how it will hit a ball at various speeds, on different parts of the barrel. These tests break down the speed of the ball before and after the impact of the bat. If the ratio of the speed equals .50 or below, the bat is considered BBCOR certified.
